“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
Mother Teresa (1910-1997)
More than just a social responsibility, giving back to the community is at the heartbeat of WSI. As a company, we recognize that the way to be perceived as a successful organization is to practice the highest standards of human compassion and behavior. This is best demonstrated in our Make Child Poverty History (MCPH) program, an initiative that allows us to help people in need.
Why We Help People
No child should go hungry in this day and age. This is a core belief of WSI’s and the motivation behind why we launched our Make Child Poverty History program.
Not only does our global presence in more than 80 countries offer us a wide range of business opportunities and competitive advantages, it also exposes our company to many social, ethical and environmental challenges. As a good corporate citizen, we strive to continuously learn about and respect local cultures, customers and best practices in all our business regions.
With franchise offices located all over the world, we feel it is our duty to go beyond helping businesses increase profitability by reaching the community as a whole through our Make Child Poverty History (MCPH) program. Read more.
How We Help People
Eradicating child poverty, one child, one village at a time. This mission statement encompasses the vision and purpose that drives our Make Child Poverty History (MCPH) initiatives.
MCPH is an ongoing global program that mobilizes resources and brings together individuals and organizations in an effort to eradicate child poverty. The initiative began when WSI board members decided it was time to take more active steps to end child poverty on a global scale.
Since its inception in 2004, WSI has supported the MCPH cause by organizing several fundraising campaigns throughout the year, which enables us to continue sponsoring more children and support various international humanitarian programs. Read more.
What We Have Done
"WSI has been a generous contributor to World Vision’s humanitarian efforts for years." This endorsement comes from Richard Chapman, a Development Advisor at World Vision Canada.
As mentioned, each year WSI launches several fundraising initiatives to support the Make Child Poverty History program, some of which include our annual charity golf tournament, holiday raffles and draws, build-a-school programs and much more. All WSI corporate staff members, franchisees, suppliers and strategic partners are encouraged to participate.
The funds raised are then used to sponsor children in underdeveloped countries around the world and support global humanitarian outreach programs through the well-respective charitable organization, World Vision. Visitors to our corporate head office in Toronto will see “WSI’s wall of sponsored children,” which is a daily reminder of the difference we have made to children in need. Read more.
